Advanced approaches for evaluating drug safety in pregnancy
Evidence on drug safety during pregnancy to inform drug labeling must come from post-approval controlled observational studies. Healthcare utilization databases are increasingly being used for this purpose as they offer clear advantages in terms of size and rich information on potential confounders. Advanced and novel approaches that capitalize on the strengths of these data to generate valid, minimally biased risks will be presented.
