Inside a Lab: Putting COVID to the (Diagnostic) Test
Kid and family friendly event!

Now is your exclusive chance to explore a COVID-19 research laboratory! Scientist, Dr. Sara Suliman and her team will take you on a guided tour of the lab itself, demonstrate how to put on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and run an experiment right before your eyes. Since the early days of the pandemic, our Mass General Brigham (MGB) researchers have dedicated much of their time to the MGB Center for COVID Innovation. It was launched in 2020 to help coordinate, facilitate and rapidly develop diagnostic innovations that will help stop the spread of SARS-CoV2, the virus responsible for COVID-19, among patients, front line health care workers and the community. The lab you will be interacting with at the Cambridge Science Festival evaluates potential COVID-19 diagnostic technologies that help to consistently and accurately test whether someone is positive or negative for COVID-19.

Event is hosted by the Brigham Research Institute and MGB CCI Diagnostic Pillar. The event will be recorded and live captioned.
